This artwork relates to time. The artist makes the light travels between the parallel mirror surfaces, and the semi-circular moon refracts continuously to create the repeated images. These images may look similar, but each refraction makes the distance of observers further. The images are also viewed from the further distances. The light ball symbolizes the moon goes down to the endless long corridor under the river, and it brings the nostalgia.
The artwork also interprets one of “Eight Sceneries at Yuejing,”
“Shishi Spring” as: “A pond outside a temple connects the sky and the soil.
The saltless crystal clear water is good for tea making.
With the source coming from the deep ground, the pond water is assured with high quality and sustainable supply.
Even during the drought season, the pond water serves as the relief source and never dries out.”
