這件作品表面上可視為具體的「燈籠馬」，造型上則突破傳統動物樣式，色彩、線條上皆有現代感。另一方面，藝術家使用派對帽當成馬兒的面具，其實已經藉由圓錐的形體改變小馬造型，使其不容易被辨認成任何動物。藝術家藉此創意手法，隱喻人們在派對中時常變換角色與身分，以期能拋開束縛，盡情展現自我。另一方面，在慶祝的場合，派對帽常是人們用來象徵歡樂的道具，這件作品也藉由派對帽的外在形象，帶給燈會歡樂的年節慶典氛圍。
