「 擺渡人」 通常出現於神話故事中，扮演負責用船把人從此岸送到彼岸的角色，或比喻生命中的過客，有過交集但不會走到一起的人。而深層含義是指幫助社會、替人解憂而存在。於生活中的你我他都可以是擺渡人，為這個世界做出不求回報但帶有善意的舉動，用屬於自己的善良和音樂於河面上傳遞照耀陽光無法觸及的世界，用自己的「光學」，去溫暖身邊的人、照亮這個社會，故此取名為《光學擺渡人》。
