One day, bunny, fox and monkey met a weak old man. Being kind, they decided
to help the old man. The agile monkey and fox soon found some food. However,
bunny tried hard but could not find anything, therefore, roasting itself for the old
man to eat. It turned out that the old man was a god in disguise, and was moved
by the bunny’s sacrifice. So, the old man decided to let bunny go to the moon
and gave it unlimited sticky rice so that it would not have to worry about food
anymore. Then, bunny started pounding mochi for everyone. This work is like a
flattened mochi on which you can sit and rejuvenate your energy. By the way, “pounding
mochi” and “watching the moon” are pronounced almost the same in Japanese.
