「賽鴿笭」為台南鹽水及嘉義義竹等地特有的民俗與休閒，不僅拉攏了村落間的情感，更兼具民俗文化的特色。藝術家由「賽鴿笭」專用的傳統竹編鴿籠發想概念，將其轉化為象徵遍地豐饒、極具詩意的燈籠，賦予它們有如「賽鴿笭」活動一般、象徵一整年豐收和平安的意義，也給恬靜的月津港增添幾許熱鬧氣息。

“Sai Ge Ling,” pigeon racing, has been the unique folk games and recreational activities in Yanshuei, Tainan and Yijhu, Chiayi that help to create community cohesion as well as present the local folk culture. The artist was inspired by the bamboo made traditional pigeon cage and converted the cage into poetic lantern embedded with the meaning of prosperities. The lantern is as dynamic as the “racing pigeons” that bring a year of peace and harvest to local residents as well as the vigor to serene Yuejin Port.
