現代已少見戶外表演使用皮影戲謝神了，不過，各類戲劇表演在古早時代，本就是獻神的儀式之一。皮影戲，又稱「燈影戲」，藝術家以現代手法重新詮釋這古老的戲曲形式，於橋南老街上重要的鹽水廟宇之一——北帝殿外，搭建一座皮影戲台，將抽象的鹽水生活縮影呈現於屏風上。元宵節前，部分鹽水人會在此殿廣場前製作蜂炮炮車，戲台內外人影相映成趣。

At the modern time, Shadow Puppet Shows are seldom seen outdoors to show the appreciation of gods’ blessings. But it was a common ritual to thank for gods in the ancient time. Shadow Puppet Shows is also called as “lamp shadow show” and now the artist uses modern method to reinterpret this old form of performing art in front of one of the important temples in Yanshuei, Bei Di Temple, where a theatre stage was built to show the life in Yanshuei in the screen and it marks the opening of the “Scroll of Yanshuei.”
