The Artwork, Mirror Flower and the Moon on the River, was inspired by the poem of a poet of Tang Dynasty, Pei Xiu, “ Once a grand building, now, is dismantled, like the mirror reflection of the moon on the river, a change in constant.” This poem tells the philosophy of Buddhism that portrays the constantly changing life like the mirror reflection of the moon on the river. Ci De Chan Temple in Yanshuei is the ideal site to display this artwork. The artist uses commonly seen large glass beaker with lighting to show the fantasy scene. The mass glass beaker constitutes the practical “scene” in reality.
