Flow of Memory

Flow of Memory is set in Liancheng Alley of Yanshui Old Street, using painted wooden tile-pressing strips—materials commonly found on old Taiwanese rooftops—to create a walkable space. At the core of the work is the idea of a “transparent field of memory,” allowing visitors to sense the flow of time and the blending of past and present as they move through the installation.

Each colorful wooden strip functions like a small panel that holds traces of past experiences and present moments, forming an ongoing dialogue within the environment.

As visitors pass through this vibrant space, their senses are gently activated, encouraging them to reflect on their position in time and their connection to the surrounding environment.

More than a visual experience, the work offers a quiet journey into the self. It invites people to explore the meaning behind this“transparent day,” and to reconnect with their thoughts about the past and the future through the simple act of walking.
