有詩云：「觀音亭外芰荷芳，馥郁風生水殿涼，梵宇頓開清境界，蓮臺空現法輪王，暑消九夏擎青蓋，香散諸天逗夕陽，鼻觀靜參禪味穎，閒來坐月對銀塘。」而此風景已不在，但詩中描述的沉靜高雅，悠閒無為充滿信仰的生活，最能代表鹽水文人生活的精神狀態

As an old poem once accurately described a temple with elegant lotuses in Yanshuei which goes, 
“Near the temple of the goddess idly lay the fragrant lotuses. With pleasant fragrance, wondering wind and agreeable weather, here one can no doubt experience a world he has never known before. This place is a heaven, so beyond description with those sporadically visiting gods who come sitting on a vast lotus flower, peacefully contemplating. Here one experiences sky blue even when other places are veiled in misty snow. Even the pretty twilight is shadowed when he knows this secret place of continuous scents. With silver mirrors in which they are happily immersed, the lotus flowers with their mesmerizing magnificence will surely touch us all.”Although the place looks no longer the way it used to be, but the peaceful spirits survived and constantly live in the heart of every Yansuei residents.
